Dorst Spray Dryer - Precision Granulation Technology
At the AMRICC Centre, our state-of-the-art spray drying equipment provides advanced granulation capabilities ideal for ceramic powders, metals, and composite materials.

Technical Description
Spray drying technology transforms powdered materials into free-flowing granules by mixing them into a slurry and spraying this mixture into a heated chamber. The fine droplets formed in the chamber are rapidly dried by hot air, resulting in uniform granules ranging from 5 to 100 microns.
Our Dorst Large Industrial Lab Spray Dryer is designed to simulate industrial-scale conditions. This spray dryer processes water-based slurries efficiently, with a capacity of up to 5 kg per hour, making it ideal for bulk material production and scale-up trials.
Uses and Applications
Spray drying technology at AMRICC serves a diverse range of advanced industrial sectors including ceramics, pharmaceuticals, energy, electronics, and aerospace industries. Typical applications include:
- Developing novel materials in a controlled laboratory environment
- Preparing uniform granulated powders ready for pressing and forming
- Preventing segregation of mixed materials, enhancing consistency and product quality
- Processing ceramic powders and composite materials requiring precise particle size control
- Producing materials suitable for pressing, injection moulding, and additive manufacturing processes
Benefits of Using Our Spray Drying Equipment
Utilising our advanced spray drying technology offers significant competitive advantages:
- Scalability: Our large spray dryer effectively simulates industrial-scale production, facilitating seamless transition from research to commercial manufacturing
